The other thing we live for is drinking outdoors. We mean, the majority of you can relate, we're sure. So in the spirit of the extra OOO hours, we’re stocking up on our favorite flora-hued citrus liqueur, fizzy water, and whipping up this elderflower-infused, and super refreshing cocktail courtesy of Devon Tarby of The Normandie Club (if you can swing it, check out The Walker Inn, tucked inconspicuously inside) to toast our independence. Cheers to that!
Spritz
1 oz DOLIN DRY VERMOUTH
1 oz ST GERMAINE
1 oz FRESH GRAPEFRUIT JUICE
0.5 oz FRESH LEMON JUICE
0.5 oz GIFFARD PAMPLEMOUSSE LIQUEUR
0.25 oz OLMECA ALTOS BLANCO TEQUILA
0.25 oz ENCANTO PISCO
3 oz SELTZER
one > Shake all ingredients (except for seltzer) with ice.
two > Strain into a large wine glass or tumbler over fresh ice, top with seltzer, and stir to combine.
three > Garnish with a slice of fresh grapefruit.

“Kendrick Lamar or Jason Isbell--probably not at the same time, though. I remember growing up it was cool to say that you liked ‘any kind of music except rap or country,’ and now I pretty much listen to exclusively one or the other. Go figure.”

“My bartending style is a bit more conservative, but I do insist that all shots be called shooters. Who can say no to a shooter?”

“Apple Brandy, especially the 8 year Pomme Eau de Vie from Clear Creek Distillery.”

“Classic Daiquiri”
MOST MEMORABLE COCKTAIL?
“My first Aviation at Comme Ca circa 2009 blew my mind. The flavor combination of maraschino liqueur and Creme de Violet were completely foreign to me; I felt like I had discovered a brand new taste.”
BEST HANGOVER CURE?
“Loads of water, sunshine, and potassium. Avocados and coconut water are my favorite electrolyte-replenishing sources when I'm hungover.”
PERSON YOU WOULD MOST LIKE TO DRINK WITH?
“I've had the same answer for 15 years (maybe replace "drink" with "hang out" for the first 7): DAVE GROHL! Dave Grohl, if you're reading this, will you have a drink with me?”
