As our colormaxxing summer sadly but surely comes to an end, we're collectively committing to incorporating bold hues into our fall rotations. While Spring/Summer 2027 runways serve as a forecast of what will trend next year, we're also pulling more timely inspiration where we can—and luckily for us, our favorite designers didn't skimp on color this season.

After attending the Prabal Gurung Spring/Summer 2027 show, one particular look remained with me—and I've been replaying the clip I took at the show over and over again. The ensemble consisted of a mustard-yellow dress layered over ketchup-red pants; black flip-flops completed the look. As someone who has recently come to the understanding that I fare better with elevated basics than with a wardrobe full of statement pieces and, as someone who will wear dresses and skirts over pants until the day I die, this was immediately bookmarked and archived.

The color combination, although outside many comfort zones, is something I will recreate—and this is coming from a girl who is struggling to wear anything but black. This is all to say this: beige is dead. Or, at the very least, should sometimes be paired with a bold, contrasting color.

Area's Spring/Summer 2027 runway made the case for colors that are bold, maximal, and still appropriate for a spontaneous night out with friends. A bright cobalt blue confetti top with slim straps was paired with blue-and-white two-toned jeans for a look that felt casual and effortless. The combination felt like something only a fashion girl could've thrown together—a balance we all want to strike.

While intended for warm weather, Tory Burch's Spring/Summer 2027 runway inspired our fall moodboards. On the runway, we kept tabs on the deep coral knit sets, sky-blue and yellow trench coats, and red and teal leather skirts.

Ralph Lauren's Spring/Summer 2027 runway was all about the blues, with dresses and tops of varying shades being presented on their own and with contrasting stories. For my favorite look, a red silky embellished dress and blue fur sleeveless jacket that felt timely, outside of the house's comfort zone, and so fun.

Diane Von Furstenberg's Spring/Summer 2027 collection spoke directly to our colormaxxing hearts. The collection featured a five-tone colorblocked trench coat, magenta capris paired with a bright red belted jacket, a memorable sheer purple moment, a lime green, bright pink, purple, orange, and green dress, and a multi-colored striped top that, paired with baggy khaki shorts. Each ensemble served as an example of a good, successful, and chic color and neutral pairing.
