Our Favorite Looks From the Haute Couture Fall 2022 Runways
From Schiaparelli to Maison Margiela, these are the outfits that took our breath away.

In his note accompanying the Schiaparelli fall/winter 2022/23 Haute Couture show, creative director Daniel Roseberry wrote, “The more difficult path is remaining an engaged member of society while also, in one's work, daring to return to a kind of creative innocence, to the state of wonder and awe we all felt when we saw our first transcendent show.” This summarizes the role of couture—it's a reverent display of craft and skill, but also a reminder of the often-referenced, yet often-forgotten "fantasy" of fashion. There is a place for playfulness and imagination on the runway, and it manifests most clearly during couture week. So this year, we're highlighting the looks that revived this sense of wonder—from Maison Margiela's steampunk space cowboys to Iris van Herpen's ethereal sirens and nymphs.
