Checking In is Coveteur's insider review series of the best, buzziest, most fashionable hotels and properties around the world.

It was my first Milan Fashion Week, and as I boarded the plane, I was nervous—those first-day-of-school type jitters tend to creep up when I'm taking on a new fashion-adjacent adventure. But I sat back and enjoyed my flight, reaching for my beloved Lemme Sleep gummies to distract from the over eight-hour flight time. After landing at Milan Malpensa Airport and making my way through customs, all I could think about was getting to my hotel for a nice shower. And after a 45-minute drive, I arrived at the doorstep of the AC Hotel Milano; the Marriott hotel that I'd call home for the next seven days.

Upon arrival, I was immediately pleased. The front desk said those glorious words—"your room is ready"—even though I was there way before the allotted check-in time. My oversized bags and I were quickly ushered upstairs, where an iced coffee, some Italian chocolates, and a handwritten note were waiting for me in my room.

Ahead, get a closer look at the AC Hotel Milano after my week-long stay at the hotel.

The Rooms

The rooms at the AC Hotel Milano were very spacious, which surprised me as a New Yorker who expects all urban hotel rooms to be tiny like they are in Manhattan. The Superior King room had beautiful herringbone wood floors and modern finishes throughout that made me feel excited to explore the space. My king-size bed was cloud-like and quickly became my reprieve after long fashion-filled days on my feet. There was also a separate sitting area with a little dining table that made it great for in-between show working sessions.

There was also tons of storage space for my suitcases and clothes; instead of a traditional closet, there was an exterior rack to hang up everything I had packed. I loved this because it allowed me to actually see everything I had and plan my outfits each day.

The Food & Drink

Whether grabbing a quick coffee before heading out to shows or late-night dinner, the AC Lounge in the lobby area was a dependable spot we could pop over to whenever we needed a pick-me-up. I particularly loved the coffee machine during the complimentary breakfast—it made delicious cappuccinos that fueled me during early mornings.

The Aesthetic

The hotel was full of elevated, modern furnishings. In the elevator, there was a full-length mirror and a zebra-like rug that made for great selfie fodder. The minimal, modern aesthetic made it the perfect place to unwind after a busy day—it never felt too overwhelming; rather, the decor felt peaceful and serene.
