My 7 Secrets for a Week of Good Skin

It’s calming and anti-acne at the same time.

My Sunday skin-care routine is designed for my split personality. I usually live my week as two separate people. Monday through Friday: boss b*tch in the streets; Saturday through Sunday: ultimate lazy girl with her Netflix in the sheets. Or on the couch. Or wherever else is cushiony and cozy. With zero time to spare during the workday, once the weekend rolls around, I become as lethargic as my slightly obese pug. This is exactly why I love masks (they do all the work while I’m horizontal) and a skin-care routine that gives me amazing, glowing skin for the full week of bossin’ ahead. See below for the seven steps I swear by.

Kiehl’s Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash: My skin skews normal to slightly oily, but I know it’s bad to wash with something too harsh so my skin doesn’t become too dry and produce more oil as a backlash. This face wash completely removes all makeup and seems to clean out all my pores without over-drying.

Feel Restored Self Warming Clay Mask: I’ve actually stepped out of my comfort zone and tried a new product recently. This mask is great because it naturally warms on your skin to open pores and remove impurities with white charcoal powder. I love the warming sensation, and my skin feels super soft after the mask is easily washed off after 10 minutes.

Boscia Luminizing Black Charcoal Mask: After the Feel Restored warming mask, I apply the Boscia Luminizing Black Charcoal Mask. This gives the opposite cooling sensation for the next 25 minutes while I finish an episode of trashy TV and brace myself for some serious pore de-clogging. You’ve seen the viral videos, you know it hurts… But beauty comes with a little bit of pain, right? This charcoal mask peels off and leaves my skin feeling de-congested, oil-free, and squeaky-clean. The pain is always worth it.

Crushed Tonic Matcha Powder: My love for matcha runs deep. I drink it all day, every day as a source of anti-aging antioxidants and a stimulant without the caffeine crash that comes with coffee. My weekday morning routine consists of a skillfully crafted almond milk matcha latte from my guys at Office Coffee, but on the weekends I still need my fix. Crushed Tonic has individually packaged matcha powder packets that are delicious and easy to make, and have marine collagen from sustainably sourced tilapia, probiotics, and biotin. While cuddling with my pug and sipping on my favorite tea, I’m also checking off the internal anti-aging box for stronger skin and thicker hair.

Dr. Jart+ Cicapair™ Tiger Grass Re.Pair Serum: This next step is the start of my skin-/life-changing spa process. The Dr. Jart+ Cicapair skin-care line has completely altered my skin in the best way possible. I have struggled with mild acne my entire adult life until recently, and I owe it all to these Cicapair products. I start by gently patting the Re.Pair Serum onto my face to soothe and calm any redness and irritation caused by the peel-off mask. It also helps to reduce acne and blemishes.

Dr. Jart+ Cicapair™ Tiger Grass Cream: This next step involves my FAVORITE product from the line. The Cream soothes skin damage caused by dryness, irritation, and inflammation. I found that a lot of my skin problems were caused by dryness, and this is the most hydrating and nourishing cream I have ever used. I apply a moderate amount to my face and neck—I can feel it soak in, and it also has this clean smell that I love. This product has cleared away any acne scars and evened my skin tone. If I were to recommend one new product for everyone to try, this is it.

Dr. Jart+ Cicapair™ Tiger Grass Nightly Re.Pair Mask: Indeed, I’m a creature of habit. My final step is the Nightly Re.Pair Mask. Why stay up when I can repair my skin while I sleep? I wake up feeling recharged, and my face feels like it made a complete recovery, ready to take on another crazy week ahead of me.
