The founder and EIC of Friend of a Friend, who has a soft spot for Les Petits Joueurs and perfectly detailed heels. New York.
You would think that after shooting for five-plus years in New York, we would have Coveteur’d pretty much every creative that resides in the city. But this is simply not the case, which speaks volumes about the amount of people who are truly pursuing their passions and making something of themselves in this city. We’re ever so lucky and thankful to be given access to many of these people’s homes, and being welcomed into Olivia Perez’s East Village apartment was no exception to our fortune.
Perez’s apartment is bright, cozy, and luxe all at once—right in line with the entrepreneur’s creative, happy-go-lucky spirit. A bright, inviting space accented with fashion books and pizza pillows (because obviously), with a bathroom that is practically bursting with skin-care and beauty products, and a closet that is so perfectly mixed with high and low pieces that we vowed to ourselves right then and there to become better shoppers.
As founder and EIC of Friend of a Friend, Perez is a woman on a mission, and we truly wonder when (if ever) she takes a break between networking and curating content for her site. “I don’t believe in the word[s] ‘side hustle,’” she told us. “I have a multi-hustle.” We’re all on board for that, and as we shoot her collections of leather jackets, denim, ornate heels, and designer bags, we chatted about how she got her start, the best advice she’s ever received, and how she chooses her guest editors for Friend of a Friend (hi, Gigi Hadid, Simi, and Haze!).
