Taraji P. Henson was one of only a few actresses who hit the red carpet of the 2018 Oscars last night with a true makeup *look*: glowing skin, a bold lip, and pretty eyeshadow. (After her memorable interaction with Ryan Seacrest, you could say she threw shade in more ways than one—sorry, we can’t help ourselves.) We were particularly keen to see her eye makeup look, as we had gotten a heads-up that the actress would be wearing Glossier’s new launch, Lidstar, a shimmery liquid eyeshadow which had been teased on Beyoncé at the Grammys and goes on sale today in a range of six shades. When we got on the phone with Henson’s longtime friend and makeup artist Ashunta Sheriff, she gave us some of the best product suggestions, including cult favorites and new indie brands we hadn’t heard of.
