Oh Great, Here’s One More Weird Beauty Thing to Worry About
Kendall Abelman

Attention—there’s something alarming yet very real afoot in the world of skincare: tech neck. Basically, it's the prominent line that forms on your neck where your head bends down to view your phone. And it becomes permanent. If you just ran to a mirror to scrutinize your reflection, we did the exact same thing! But we like to consider it another perfect reason to not scroll through Instagram before going to bed anymore.

Unfortunately, time and gravity don’t care that it’s almost impossible to function in the modern world without a smartphone permanently attached to your hand. Fun fact: Researchers figured out that looking down at your cell phone is the equivalent of putting a 60-pound weight on your neck. So, considering that Americans spend over ten hours each day staring at a screen (!!), developing the premature neck line is nearly unavoidable. But look at it this way—a new problem means a whole arsenal of fresh products to try. Silver linings, you know?

We couldn’t wait to get our hands on the latest and greatest treatments, masks, and gadgets that promise to alleviate our developing tech necks. Each discovery was eagerly passed around the Coveteur office as we took turns debating whether or not this is even worth caring about (subjective, but again, PRODUCTS) and if these things actually work. Take a look at our top 5 below!

Peter Thomas Roth FIRMx Face and Neck Contouring System
Any product that is marketed as an entire SYSTEM must mean business. The cream complex has 23.84% growth factor to “help support cell to cell communication.” That’s cool and all, but to be honest, the best part is the stainless-steel contouring tool, which is basically the beauty junkie’s fidget spinner. There’s something super calming about rolling out your neck folds in front of all your coworkers.
