Kendall Jenner’s Coachella Topknot Is Seriously Easy

Made for the profound Day 2 and a hangover.

Kendall Jenner’s Coachella Topknot Is Seriously Easy
Adam Torgerson

Not to shamelessly toot our own horn or anything (but kinda!), but we called the space bun thing wayyyy back last Coachella, when Kendall Jenner sprinkled some sparkles between them and locked arms with Kaia Gerber through the field of flower-crowns. Thank gawd those are over. This year, hairstylist and Mane Addicts expert Alex Brown took the ubiquitous hangover hairstyle, the topknot, and made it worthy for an over-snapped festival by adding a few bobby pins. Watch Brown recreate it on the stunning Rona Mahal and learn.

The Step-by-Step

Step 1: Brush hair with a Sheila Stotts brush, and apply OUAI Hair Oil and Finishing Cream to the hair to create a sleek, smooth texture.

Step 2: Section out a triangle from the recession of the forehead to the center of the top of the head. Clip this triangle away.

Step 3: Using a Mason Pearson brush, brush all of the remaining hair into a sleek high ponytail. Secure with a hair bungee.

Step 4: Unclip the triangle section, and using a fine-tooth comb, comb it into the ponytail while keeping the center part. Combine with the ponytail, and secure with a hair elastic.

Step 5: Twist the ponytail, forming a knot/bun at the top of the crown, and secure with bobby pins.

Step 6: Spray Balmain Strong Hold Hairspray on your hand, and apply to the head while smoothing the hair at the same time.

Step 7: For added detail, add as many bobby pins to the back of the head as you’d like while forming them into a V shape.
