Here’s Everything Celebrity Trainers Eat for Breakfast

When it comes to how we should (or would like to) start our days, we take cues from those who seem to have all their shit together. And in our line of work, we meet a lot of said people. Like, say, the trainers who somehow manage to run fitness empires all while inspiring (and sculpting) some of the most famously healthy bodies and making time for themselves—because, as we always say, balance. And when talking to the fitness experts who have helped the likes of Lily Aldridge and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Chrissy Teigen and Jennifer Lawrence get into the best shape, it was easy to correlate that a nutritious breakfast is the key to a healthy lifestyle. Here’s what six of said celebrity trainers eat in the morning.

Mary Helen Bowers

Founder, Ballet Beautiful

CV: Natalie Portman, Candice Swanepoel, Lily Aldridge, Julia Restoin Roitfeld

“Most mornings, I eat slow-cooked oats with raw nuts and fresh berries. I take my coffee with skim or low-fat milk and a spoon of dark honey.”

“[For breakfast, I have] a protein shake and a coffee.”

Elizabeth Cutler

Founder, SoulCycle

CV: Everyone

“[For breakfast] I’ll get a Starbucks turkey bacon sandwich, or I’ll do yogurt and fruit. I love yogurt with a bunch of cinnamon in it and maybe, like, a little almond butter.”

Vanessa Packer

Founder, modelFit

CV: Martha Hunt, Karlie Kloss

“[For breakfast every day I have] green juice, smoothies, acai bowls, or fresh fruit. It depends what I’m in the mood for, but it’s usually one of those. I like to start my day on the lighter side.”

Dalton Wong

Founder, Twenty Two Training

CV: Jennifer Lawrence

“My Monday-to-Friday breakfast is a green smoothie that I make at the gym, that has celery, spinach, cucumber, ginger, and mint. I have that first thing with some fresh lemon juice in it, and then I’ll have my coffee. On my weekends, when I’m a dad and not Dalton Wong, one of my favorite things to have is sourdough bread with avocado, eggs, and spinach. In the morning we get up and go to Gale’s, which is a nice bakery, we buy the sourdough, we come home, the kids have it with jam and butter. I’ll have it with avocado, eggs, and some veggies.”

Kelly Morris

Meditation Guru

CV: Russell Simmons to Michelle Williams to Diane von Furstenberg

“I am never super hungry in the morning, but as every mother intones, you need breakfast. So I have a slice of toasted organic oatmeal bread with organic egg salad on top. It takes one minute to make—literally—and guarantees that I won’t be crabby by 11 AM. That, or organic spelt flakes made into hot cereal with organic dates, maple syrup, and half-and-half. Everything organic!”
