Fashion Superlatives

We’re Dying to DIY Olivia Palermo’s Sweater

Plus, Veronika Heilbrunner wins New York Fashion Week.

New York Fashion Week is officially wrapped (on to London! follow us on Instagram and Snapchat to see all the things happening across the pond!), but just because it’s over doesn’t mean we have to stop poring over all the terrific style the bi-annual parade of peacockery brings us. Here is our list of the ultimate best-dressed in a week full of well-dressed people.

Most Likely to Remind Us All Who the Queen of Fashion Week Cool Is: Veronika Heilbrunner

Veronika Heilbrunner has been running street style circles around everyone else since she wore Nike Air Force 1s with her Erdem back in 2012. Here she is looking as effortless and cool as ever. And I’m jealous.” —Emily Ramshaw

Most Likely to Actually Be Warm: Veronika Heilbrunner (again!)

“The number one thing to say to people you sort of know but not really at NYFW? ‘Ooooh it’s so cooold!’ I’m guessing either Veronika Heilbrunner doesn’t need to make awkward conversations with anyone (given that she’s the queen of Fashion Week cool and everything), or she, unlike 99.9% of the other show-goers who attempted to break out open-toed heels or bare shins, gives more fucks about being warm than she does about wearing next season’s *thing.* Kudos to you, Heilbrunner, on your practicality and general stylish-ness.” —Laurel Pantin

Most Likely to Make You Rethink Your Go-To Turtleneck: Olivia Palermo

“A cream oversized fisherman knit is nothing new; your grandfather probably has one, your mom wears hers on the regular, and you probably have at least two versions in your closet. But is yours decorated in shiny pearls of various sizes—essentially turning your turtleneck into something very lady-like and worthy of more than Sunday errands? Thought not. Time to get DIYing.” —Alicia Cesaro

Best Non-Pants Pants: Jessica Hart

“Admittedly, there are days where I’d pretty much rather do anything than pull on a pair of pants, which isn’t as much of an issue on Saturday and Sunday than it is on a weekday, when I’m about to head to work. Jessica’s jumpsuit might just be the answer. It’s loose, and sort of looks like (really cute) pajamas to me, but the print plus the trench pairing makes it elevated enough for the office. The bonus? Her topknot—aka the perfect no-fuss ‘do—also goes along with my lazy work-girl look, and I plan on copying this, in its entirety, ASAP.” — Samantha Sutton

Most Likely to Make You Reconsider Your Color Palette: Margaret Zhang

“I swear there isn’t an outfit that Margaret Zhang wears that isn’t snap-worthy. There is no doubt the girl knows how to dress. Zhang’s color-coordinated outfit is giving us all the feels, making us want to opt out from our all-black wardrobe. She makes it look so effortless—care to share some tips with us, Zhang?”
