Inside Frieze New York
Perusing and partying with Sarah Hoover and Misha Nonoo
Street cred in the art world is hard to come by. Full stop. Yet, somehow, in just four years, Frieze New York—the baby sister art fair of London's original—has, well, 'it.' Hence why troops of artists, dealers, curators and a few of us normal folk boarded ferries headed for the somewhat removed Randalls Island for a week’s worth of browsing stalls and indulging in garden-set dinners and vodka-fuelled after parties. Sensory overload in every, uh, sense.
And who better to help us navigate the maze of crushed pop cans (more on that later) than designer Misha Nonoo, whose most prized possession just so happens to be a Thilo Heinzmann (Google it, guys…just Google), and Sarah Hoover, a dealer for the Gagosian Gallery, to give us their POV inside the entire fair. Yeah... we're also counting down the months to next year (Basel in six!—see you there?!).
