Harley Viera Newton's Daily De-brief: Misha Nonoo SS/15

Hyperlapse, normcore, oversized Spongebob sweatshirts... the parameters that define them may come and go, but if there's one thing the fashion crowd loves come NYFW, it's a spectacle. Do streakers sprinting down the runway, melting walls made entirely out of (real, edible) chocolate or holograms of A$AP Rocky making appearances on the runway (just to name a few from seasons past) sound familiar?

Let's just say we were hardly surprised when none other than Cov-alum Misha Nonoo (you know, she of the impeccably-offbeat home tchotchkes and the wedding ceremony that included a set by Lana Del Rey?) was the one who got things off to that Valencia-worthy, proverbial bang this fashion week. Allow us to demonstrate: cue a runway whirling with intricate prints as part of a collaboration with Brooklyn-based contemporary artist Dustin Yellin. Oh, and the artist himself just so happened to take a turn down the runway—iced latte in immaculately-manicured hand, bien sûr.

You can probably imagine our excitement, then, when you factor in that we had a first-hand look at watching the whole thing come together; and it was from our exclusive spot backstage where we sat iPhone in hand, watching TRESemmé's team of veritable hair wizards work their hairspray-laden magic.
And yes, because we know you're wondering, we were resourceful enough to nab crib notes on Nonoo's whole ladies-who-lunch-at-Le-Bain-ready, slicked-and-sprayed side part—and will continue to for some of the best shows all NYFW long. Watch this space (and follow along on Instagram) if you know what's good for you—and your mane.

The Textured Wave

You will need...

- TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Mousse
- Blowdryer
- Flat brush
- TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Hairspray
- Tongs.

Step 1

Start by parting the hair to one side and applying TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Mousse at the root, working it into the hair.

Step 2

Firmly brush down on the roots and dry with a blow dryer to ensure the hair lays flat; spray with TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Hairspray.

Step 3

Take large sections of the hair and tong them vertically, starting at the front, ensuring to only wrap the hair once.

Step 4

Run your hands through the hair, keeping the top section smooth.

Step 5

Finish the look by tucking the hair on one side behind the ear and spray all over with TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Hairspray. Et voila!
