Dallas Designer Showcase: The Coveteur X W Hotels X CFDA {FASHION INCUBATOR}

If you've been keeping up with The Coveteur, you know that we've recently (ish) hooked up with W Hotels and the CFDA {FASHION INCUBATOR} mentorship program. As much as we love the concrete jungle, these designers travel outside the borders of New York City through a series of Designer Showcases in regional markets. The designers present their collections in the hotel’s glam spaces to local tastemakers, retailers, trendsetters, press and social media ...so where better to head to next than Dallas?

With Ari Dein, Jonathan Simkhai, Reece Hudson, Timo Weiland in tow, we were off to Texas, which has kind of become a second home of ours as of late. After checking in at the W Dallas - Victory, the hotel's general manager, Darryl Jett, hosted a welcome dinner at the hotel's new resto, Cook Hall. After getting in good night's sleep, it was off for Market Visits with a few of the top retailers in Dallas. The designers and mentors, met up at the Neiman Marcus in Dallas, a city with some serious significance for the brand, as it's home to both their corporate HQ and flagship, and had a private lunch with Fashion Director Ken Downing to talk shop.

The next day saw a splashy champagne lunch and fashion presentation with local bloggers and press hosted at the hotel, on their new rooftop venue, Altitude. Hosted by Ken Downing and Gabrielle DePapp of Neiman Marcus, as well as Cov-alums Steven Kolb, Nasiba Adilova and Roopal Patel, the lunch was followed up with a private media hour and cocktail reception for some of Dallas' major players. But you know what they say about all work and no play—there was still plenty of time to indulge in lots of local cuisine. Tex-Mex, anyone?
