The 37 Best Beauty Products That Launched in August

From a holographic lip serum to a lifting cream to combat gravity.

By: Hannah Baxter

August was a glorious month for beauty launches, friends. Thats if our bathroom shelves are any indication. With the end of summer inching closer by the day, we found comfort in delicious floral fragrances, earth-friendly makeup wipes, velvety liquid lipsticks, and calming serums that also leave your skin deeply hydrated. To be completely honest, it was tough to narrow down so many stellar products, but it’s a job we’re more than happy to take on for the sake of beauty lovers everywhere. From brightening masks to vegan mascaras and everything in between, these are the 37 best products that launched in August.

Harry Josh Pro Tools Travel Ceramic Flat Styling Iron, $115

We’ll always trust our hair in Harry Josh’s hands, but when he’s not available for personal styling sessions, this compact travel iron is the next best thing. It heats up in 30 seconds and leaves your style (whether wavy, curly, or straight) smooth and frizz-free.

Almay Biodegradable Longwear Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes, $6

As much as we love removing our makeup with a face wipe (this editor has a stack of three packs at her desk alone), it’s hard to ignore the impact they have on the environment after they’re thrown away. Almay has finally developed a biodegradable version that is still gentle on the skin. It’s a win-win.

Tatcha The Silk Peony Melting Eye Cream, $60

If you have sensitive skin around your eyes (welcome to the club), this soothing eye cream is about to become your new secret weapon. Japanese white peony gently moisturizes while packing the skin with antioxidants, while the cushiony texture plumps and blurs fine lines.

Lancôme Idôle by Lancôme, $96

Our forever beauty muse, Zendaya, stars in the new campaign for Lancôme’s latest fragrance, which was also formulated by three female perfumers. It contains a sophisticated blend of jasmine, citrus, rose, white musk, and vanilla, for an elegant scent that is perfect for fall. Plus, all the ingredients were ethically and sustainably sourced.

Dior Rouge Ultra Care, $37

Dior creative & image director Peter Philips developed this lipstick, the house’s first to contain a hydrating polymer with a plant-based oil. Lips are left soft, never cracked or dry. This 999 Ultra Dior shade is such a classic red, we need it for our collection.

RéVive Masque de Radiance Brightening Moisture Mask, $150

In case you were in the market for a truly glam at-home spa experience, this energizing mask transforms from a pearlescent finish to shimmering gold as it dries. It’s also packed with vitamin C to brighten, and energy building block ATP to refresh dull skin.

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Hydrating Longwear Foundation, $35

We don’t typically hear the words “hydrating” and “foundation” in the same sentence, but leave it to Rihanna to change all of that for the better. Her medium-coverage long-wear foundation comes in 50 shades and will have your skin looking on point from morning to night.

Clarins V Shaping Facial Lift Serum, $81

A wheat grass additive, Organic Agropyron, helps reduce the drooping effects of gravity in this serum (the plant is known for its super gripping capabilities), which in turn lifts and contours your face. An extra dose of hyaluronic acid deeply hydrates the complexion.

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Heat Styling Spray, $28

Anyone who heat-styles their hair understands the need for a solid thermal protectant. It keeps your hair safe from damage up to 450°F/ 230°C without leaving any sticky residue behind.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara, $23

A conditioning, lengthening, and vegan mascara all in one? You betcha. This formula really is stellar, and now it comes in a chic fall plaid so you can channel your inner Cher.

Sephora Collection ClearSkinDays Spot Eraser Stick, $6

You already know that salicylic acid is a hero ingredient for getting rid of pimples—that’s why this handy stick version is perfect for on-the-go spot treatment. It’s a dream for travel (when our skin freaks out the most). Just apply before your nightly moisturizer, and kiss your acne goodbye.

Peach & Lily Pore Proof Perfecting Clay Mask, $43

We’ll always trust our skin to K-beauty guru Alicia Yoon. Her newest mask is ideal for deep-cleansing your skin of any clogged pores without stripping or irritating it in the process. Added wild cherry and strawberry extracts also help reduce inflammation and protect against free-radical damage.

Benefit Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer, $22

A foolproof, high-coverage concealer is one of the greatest tools in your makeup arsenal, and Benefit just released our new favorite. The creamy texture doesn’t flake or crease throughout the day, and we’ve yet to find a blemish it’s incapable of disguising.

Dermalogica Phyto-nature Firming Serum, $145

Premature skin aging results from stress, lack of sleep, diet, and more, but this serum is targeted to combat and lessen the effects of all those. It’s dual-phase to both firm and lift, with sapphire-bound biomimetic peptides to fight aging from your lifestyle and environment, and plant-derived bioextracts to tighten, plus plenty of hyaluronic acid to plump the skin and smooth away wrinkles.

Kérastase Discipline Huile Oléo-Relax Advanced, $37

Frizz doesn’t have to be a part of your life anymore, thanks to this new lightweight oil serum. It seals the cuticle from the humidity, while also offering heat protection up to 450°F/ 230°C. Your hair (especially for medium and thick textures) is soft, manageable, and moisturized.

Olive & June RP Polish, $8

A taupe nail is a timeless classic—it’s basically the trench coat of manicures. Olive & June’s 7-free formula lasts for days and never pills—a must when you’re doing your own nails at home.

Ilia Clean Line Gel Liner, $26

A clean beauty staple, Ilia’s new liner has all the ease of a pencil with the glide of a gel formula. Best of all, it does not budge, so your eye look stays fresh from morning to night.

Nécessaire The Body Exfoliator, $30

We’ve been waiting for the next release from minimalist skin-care line Nécessaire, and it’s finally here, with the new body exfoliator. With both physical and chemical exfoliants (like pumice and lactic acid), your skin will be buffed and smoothed to perfection in just one shower.

Clé de Peau Protective Fortifying Emulsion SPF 22, $155

Platinum golden silk protects the skin from various forms of stress in this illuminating emulsion, while okra and ononis spinosa root extract support skin health for a brighter, more luminous complexion. Your skin is plump, smooth, and primed for makeup (or a perfectly bare face). The SPF is a welcome bonus.

Sigma Enchanted Eyeshadow Palette, $49

The moody greens and dusky taupes in this palette are absolutely stunning for fall. There’s plenty of matte and shimmering finishes to mix up your eye look, plus everything is vegan and cruelty-free.

Mary Kay Naturally Purifying Cleanser, $26

Mary Kay has launched a clean line of skin care, and we are here for it. The creamy cleanser leaves our skin feeling free of dirt and debris, but not entirely stripped of moisture—a must for the upcoming fall weather.

Tata Harper Supernaturals 2.0 Concentrated Brightening Essence, $215

With summer coming to a close, you no doubt have some unwelcome hyperpigmentation to deal with. This 100-percent-natural essence uses a powerful blend of 33 brightening ingredients (think willow bark extract, sunflower seed oil, and more), plus vitamins and minerals to even and tone your complexion, fast.

StriVectin Hyperlift Eye Instant Eye Fix, $49

This eye cream is ideal if you suffer from unwanted bags or puffiness. A neuropeptide blend minimizes the look of fine lines, while French pink clay, clear quartz crystal, and magnesium aluminum silicate tighten and firm the skin.

YSL Libre Eau de Parfum, $104

This gorgeous bottle wins for design hands down. But the scent is just as enticing, with a warm floral base and a blend of sensual Moroccan orange blossom, French lavender, and musky accord.

Anastasia Loose Setting Powder, $36

As much as we adore a dewy makeup look, the reality is that if you’re having your picture taken, a powder is a must (unless you want to blind the photographer). This loose setting powder mattifies your skin while still leaving you with a seamless finish.

Burt’s Bees Rose Micellar Toning Water, $10

Micellar water is one of the gentlest ways to remove makeup and cleanse the skin, but Burt’s Bees has upped the ante with this rose toning option. Balance your skin via this alcohol-free formula, so your skin is cleansed and ready to absorb the rest of your skin-care products.

Clove + Hallow FlexLash Mascara, $19

It took Clove + Hallow two and a half years to create this mascara, but we’re happy to report that it does a fantastic job at lifting and curling our lashes. With a coconut-oil-and-carnauba-wax base, the totally vegan formula gives you that necessary dose of drama without irritation or unwanted parabens or silicones.

Lord Jones Heavy Duty Chill Balm, $75

If you’re looking to explore the realm of CBD-infused products, Lord Jones should definitely be your first stop. With 200 mg of CBD per jar, plus organic jojoba oil, organic shea butter, and organic extra virgin olive oil, your skin will feel deliciously soft, and any lingering aches or pains will be minimized. We recommend keeping a jar on your desk at all times.

Seaweed Bath Co. Awaken Detox Clarifying Shampoo, $15

It’s tough to find a clarifying shampoo that won’t strip your hair of moisture, but this formula is gentle enough even for color-treated hair. French green clay helps to remove toxins from the scalp, while apple cider vinegar restores your skin’s pH balance. Tea tree oil is also added to remove lingering buildup (a must if you love dry shampoo).

Lano Holographic Lip Water, $17

Sorry, but an “underwater-holographic glow” is the most intriguing style of makeup we’ve heard all season. This lip product is more like a serum than a gloss, and the liquid lanolin, glycerin, and peppermint keep your lips hydrated for hours.

Sisley-Paris Velvet Sleeping Mask with Saffron Flowers, $140

Leave it to a french beauty company to create our new favorite sleeping mask. Packed full of botanical ingredients like thyme honey (to restore dull skin), macadamia oil (to nourish), and kokum butter (to replenish lipids and hydrate), you’ll wake up with soft, dewy skin in no time.

Westman Atelier Super Loaded Tinted Highlighter in Peau De Soleil, $75

We’ve been huge fans of Gucci Westman’s makeup line since she launched it last year, and this newest release does not disappoint. It’s essentially a glowy highlighter and bronzer in one, with gorgeous color payoff that gets your cheekbones cut and glowing with one swipe.

Davines Oi Hair Butter, $44

Anytime the seasons change, we take extra care to ensure our hair is deeply moisturized. Don’t you want to coat yours in the aptly named hair butter? The added roucou oil is rich in ellagic acid, which helps neutralize free radicals and leaves your hair soft and shiny.

Estée Lauder Aerin Limone di Sicilia Parfum, $235

A bright, citrusy floral is our ideal scent for saying so-long to summer. The added notes of bergamot, muguet de mai, lemon primofiore, and Egyptian jasmine (along with plenty of rose centifolia and oak moss) gives this a beguiling finish that lasts for hours.

Monastery Aloe Hyaluronic Moisture Boost, $79

This gel serum contains two different types of hyaluronic acid, plus aloe for a soothing, skin-plumping effect. The newly relaunched line manages to combine aromatherapy and clean skin care for a luxe at-home spa experience.

Giorgio Armani Beauty Matte Nature Lip Maestro, $38

There are ten delicious new shades in Armani’s Lip Maestro collection, all perfect for fall. The velvety finish makes for the most comfortable liquid lip we’ve ever worn, and despite multiple rounds of coffee, it will not budge for anything. The 206 Cedar shade—a warm, burnt cranberry—will be our go-to all season long.

Baby Tress Edge Styler, $15

No need to keep using that old toothbrush to lay your baby hairs—this chic new brand has developed a three-in-one tool to comb, shape, and finish. The natural boar bristles and pointed tip will keep you looking slick all day, with nary a rogue hair in sight.
