Sure, we all said to each other on Slack tonight, there were some pretty red lips and nice soft waves at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards, just like every other red carpet, but the truth is that this year, everyone brought the beauty look they individually rock the best. Gone are the days of needing to appear “in touch” by choosing the matte lip or the slicked-back hair—we saw that, too, but it didn’t feel trendy. There was a long list of standout makeup and hair moments as long as Julia Roberts’ legs (she’s aging backwards, we swear). Jamie Lee Curtis showed up with a white hair reveal, Thandie Newton’s voluminous curls were an utter scene stealer, Lupita Nyong’o rocked cobalt eyelashes, and Camilla Belle’s turquoise smoky eye matched her dress *precisely*. Individuality killed it this year, plain and simple. Here are the looks that left our jaws on the floor.
