Forget the gross, rainy weather, we’re in full-on spring mode. Last week we did a full Cov HQ clean-out and donated bags of goodies to a local charity, and because it felt so good, we’re planning a day to do the same in our apartments. But instead of refilling our closets with all-new everything like we’re so tempted to do every season, we’re going to save some dollars and up our wardrobe just the same. Two words: friends and consignment. Keep reading to find out how it’s done.
USE YOUR FRIENDS (SERIOUSLY, THOUGH)
One of the best things about friends is...your friends’ wardrobes! When you’re sick of everything you own, rally your friends, pick a date, and promise to bring a bag (or two) of clothing each—once you’re all together, swap. One-for-one is typically the rule of thumb, but you do you.
LEARN THE CONSIGNMENT GAME
You know what’s better than trading with your friends? Trading with the chic closets of strangers, and having money left over for it. Typically, the money you get for consigning your clothing and accessories goes way further if you keep it in the story, so, if we’re doing math, it’s a way better bet. Just make sure to do your research.
