Backstage at the Ellery Spring 2017 Show
Where we found everything we want to wear right now.

When we arrived backstage at the Ellery show a little more than an hour before the models walked the runway, we decided to end our search for how we want to look right now—the fact that we have to wait until spring for the clothes to be in stores is either a test of our patience, or a cruel joke.
The fact is, Kym Ellery is consistently really, really good at making clothes for the cool girl who has a little bit of attitude. And this season, with the help of a beauty look that was all about brows (thanks to lead makeup artist Val Garland) and natural hair worn long and tucked behind the ears (the work of hairstylist Eugene Souleiman), the look sat squarely between sophisticated and offbeat. Give us those flower-embroidered mesh pieces, the high-gloss croc coat, that puff-sleeved jacket, and any one of the S&M-inspired chokers and stack-heel boots and we’re pretty sure some of that Ellery swagger will follow naturally. How could it not?
