There's no one we envy quite like those who literally shop for a living. Okay, so maybe that's oversimplifying things slightly—the start-up life is not without its midnight breakdowns and daily fire-extinguishing—but our point remains: heading up your very own high fashion e-commerce website has its perks. Need an example? Just take a peek inside the closet of Avenue 32 co-founder and CEO Roberta Benteler. Would you rather us get out our laser pointer? That buttery black Saint Laurent bucket bag. Those gold 3.1 Phillip Lim loafers. That Annelise Michelson choker. Yeah, that's reason enough for us.
Needless to say, rolling up to Benteler's home during the height of London fashion week, our expectations were sidled on the higher side of things—and we were far from disappointed. We unearthed Hermès piece after Hermès piece and Céline box bag after Céline box bag as Benteler donned her favorite sunglasses-and-sweeping-Valentino-gown combos. Oh, and we can't forget that killer textured camel-on-camel CHANEL leather jacket and tweed Acne culotte look, either. In case you couldn't tell, she's kind of nailed the whole #girlboss wardrobe on its head.
Wait, did we just gloss over that part entirely? Allow us to fill you in: an alum of LVMH, not only does Benteler have her Masters in Finance, she also started Avenue32 at the ripe old age of 26. And she's not one to shy away from dropping compliments towards those who could be perceived as her competitors, either, taking time to nod her hat to Net-a-Porter's Natalie Massenet as we dug through her closet. She also copped to a Sophia Amoruso-like disdain for rules growing up, explaining that in high school, she was best known for being the one to "be kept in detention for rolling up my skirts, wearing makeup or breaking some other rule." Guys, we officially know who we want to be when we grow up.
