Rosemin Manji

Director of RR&Co. Bespoke Luxury Management. Dubai

It might sound facetious, but nothing sums it up quite as succinctly as a tweet from the model Ali Michael a few months ago that we just can't seem to get out of our heads. "You might not realize it," she wrote, "but a lot of people are Canadian."

We know, we know, but hear us out—Michael's statement rings entirely true, especially in the fashion industry. Don't believe us? We point to none other than Cov-alums Erdem Moralioğlu, Joanna Hillman, Leslie Fremar, Brooke Wall, Karla Welch and Brad Goreski, as well as the likes of Leith Clark, Joe Zee and Imran Amed, to name just a few. Oh, and half of IMG's current roster (guys, Tim Hortons is actually a go-to site for model scouts—we swear). C'mon—we seriously dare you to tell us there wasn't at least one name in that list that threw you just a little. And given that we love to show love to our home and native land, nothing warms our Helmut Lang-preoccupied hearts or gets us waving a little red and white quite like seeing a fellow Canadian make it in a big, big way.

Enter Rosemin Manji, founder of RR&CO, a luxury consulting firm based out of Dubai. After earning her B.A. at the London College of Fashion and interning at Sotheby's and Gucci's Tom Ford-era press office, the man himself (yes, you're reading that correctly) approached Manji to join his team. Just in case that 'Tom Ford is Back' sign didn't give it all away right off the bat, you guys. Oh, and after her stint with Gucci, Manji went on to manage European public relations for Juicy Couture—making her the one responsible for getting everyone from Kate Moss and Gwyneth Paltrow to Charlotte Casiraghi (again, we swear you're reading that correctly) into the brand's ubiquitous-in-the-2000s terrycloth jumpsuits.

Fast forward to today, where, after moving from London to Dubai, Manji launched launched her company, which oversees the expansion of brands like Givenchy, Burberry and Christian Louboutin throughout the UAE. And yes, that means Manji rubs shoulders with everyone from the aforementioned Louboutin (he named a shoe after her—just in case you were looking for further testament to her industry impact) to Christopher Bailey on the regs. Not bad for a girl from small-town Ontario, right?!
