Willy Chavarria Takes Us Behind the Scenes of His First-Ever Met Gala
From the Ritz to the after parties.

Willy Chavarria is the culture—and on Monday, he brought the culture (along with several of his impeccably tailored, thrillingly accessorized suits) to the Met Gala red carpet for the first time.
The designer dressed an A-team, including actor Morgan Spector, musician Leon Bridges, Saks CEO Marc Metrick, singer-songwriter Moses Sumney, and photographer Marco Ovando for the main event and its afterparties. In a sea of florals, his signature broad-shouldered suit jackets—here with dinnerplate roses and poppies affixed to the lapels—were impossible to miss.
Naturally, we asked to tag along, so Chavarria brought a disposable camera to show us the day (and late night) through his lens.
