We're in the midst of spooky season and, soon enough, a slew of celebrity Halloween costumes will already have us inspired for next year and committed to going all out. Although the fluctuating temperatures have left us with a bit of seasonal confusion, a stroll through my Brooklyn neighborhood and the brownstones decorated with spider webs, pumpkins, and spooky touches galore has been grounding me in reality. The reality is we have seemingly sped through the month of October; Halloween is only a few weeks away, and it's time to get our acts together and put together costumes.

Naturally, we're turning towards film and TV for inspiration and asking: what are some iconic on-screen looks that have and will stand the test of time? There are so obvious choices from fan-favorite '90s films, but also a few that are more niche—Shoshanna Shapiro in one specific scene in an episode of Girls, for example.

Ahead, the film and TV-inspired Halloween costumes to consider this spooky season.
