Tonal Ties Are In For FW26
The androgynous styling technique is all over the runways at men's week.

Last season for men's week in the summer of 2026, there was one styling technique that appeared on almost every runway: neckties. They were everywhere. Worn loose and layered at Junya Watanabe; tight and tucked at Saint Laurent; or neatly layered with button-up knitwear at Louis Vuitton. Not much has shifted by way of the trends coming off the menswear runways for Fall/Winter 2026. Leather bomber jackets are still omnipresent, the skinny pant hasn't taken over yet, and neckties still reign supreme in almost every collection we've seen this season.

The tie combinations have evolved, too. Where last season saw a series of striped and patterned ties featured against many-a-white shirt, this season sees the palette shift to block colors and tonal pairings. Red ties are paired with red shirts at Louis Vuitton, same with navy blue. At Ralph Lauren a gray checked shirt is worn with a grey checked tie in the same material, while at Pronounce, a tonal brown button down is layered with a chocolate silk tie.

Block colors were layered at Auralee, where a translucent butter yellow georgette button down was paired with a baby blue tie, and a baby blue button down was layered with a black tie and red pullover. Over at Soshiotsuki, a gray suit was intercepted with a blue velour quarter zip, which revealed a shirt and tie combo in almost the same gray as the suit.

Neckties have been back in the trend cycle for some time now, especially from a sartorial perspective instead of a functional one. We all know a finance bro or political figurehead who is in the most basic tie known to man day in and day out, but fashion has been levelling up the tie game for the past few seasons, and there is nothing quite like an excellent shirt and tie combination.
