Tefi Passoa is known for charming celebrities on red carpets, offering up advice on everything from terrible boyfriends to shady coworkers in her column "Ask Tefi," and generally oversharing (her words, not ours.) Now, she has a slightly different genre of advice for us. Teaming up with Depop (the community-powered secondhand shopping platform) for their "Taste Recognizes Taste" campaign aimed at celebrating diverse styles and perspectives, the collaborative team is set to drop a three part series on the evolution of taste, expressing self through style, and, perhaps most intriguingly to us, the importance of a good closet clean-out. And in celebration of the keep what brings you joy, discard the rest mindset, a Tefi Depop shop drop consisting of 48 items from her closet (including a Jacquemus Le Rectangle Bag!) is now available to shop. When asked to describe her personal style in three words, Tefi chose "forever that girl," so you already know it's a great selection.

But first, in order to make room for the incoming newness, some advice on making space in your wardrobe straight from Tefi herself.

If You Haven't Worn It In Six Months, It's Time To Let It Go

"My advice for anyone downsizing is simple: if you haven’t worn it in six months, it’s time to let it go. I like to think of it as giving that item a new life with someone else. I probably watched "The Brave Little Toaster" too many times as a kid, but I really do imagine my clothes finding new homes. It brings me peace knowing they’re not just sitting in a drawer, unseen. Depop makes that process so easy. It’s one of the few U.S. secondhand marketplaces without seller fees, and listing items is super straightforward. It’s honestly the ideal resource for giving your pieces a second chance."

Put Together A Moodboard

"I always start by putting together a mood board of what I want my style to look like right now. We’re not the same people we were six months ago or even six weeks ago. So, it helps to visualize where I’m going instead of focusing on what I’m losing. That way, the clean-out feels more like curating a new chapter than just getting rid of things."

Approach Your Closet Like You Would Any Relationship

"I approach my closet like I would any relationship. It’s tied to my identity and sense of self, but it should also evolve. I try to make it fun. The hesitation to let something go really only lasts about five minutes, and by the time I’ve packed and shipped it, I’ve already forgotten about it. I think sometimes the nostalgia of what we’ve worn feels stronger than actually owning it."
