In Paris, Red Is Not Dead
Our street-style photographer reports from the field (read: the streets of Paris Fashion Week).

I touched base with photographer Paige Campbell Linden at the beginning of Paris Fashion Week for her preliminary thoughts on what she was seeing from showgoers’ ensembles. “I've been seeing a lot of red,” she said after two days in the field shooting street style, “but I felt like that was anticipated.” By the end of the week, her tepid opinion had shifted to an all-out embrace. “I've seen [red worn] in every way possible, from accessories to full looks—bags, shoes, coats, tights.”
Credit the pervasiveness of this trend to the low barrier to entry. As Campbell-Linden noted, you can participate as much or as little as you’d like. Lukewarm? Try a bag, a shoe, or a lip—or even a fire-engine red phone case. Feeling the scarlet energy? Opt for a head-to-toe ensemble. Regardless of your personal degree of appreciation for the color, Campbell Linden notes, “It's making a statement and doesn't seem like it's going anywhere any time soon.”
