All of the industry’s fashion editors, buyers, designers and influencers gathered in Paris for Men’s Fashion Week to complain mostly about the weather and offer little commentary about clothes. It's true, the heat in the city of love was so extreme last week that there were slender chances of focusing on anything other than regulating our body heat and trying to stay alive. However, the show went on for most. Brands like Dior shifted their show schedules forward to avoid the worst parts of the day, show goers fanned themselves with whatever they could get on hand (you were lucky to find a handheld electric fan within a couple of miles from the center of Paris). I took refuge in Ubers, sacrificing the time-saving ways of the metro and bikes to sit completely still with the air conditioning blasting upon my face.

Even as the city reached record breaking temperatures, there were plenty of fashion moments that alleviated our woes, if even temporarily. Saint Laurent was as austere as ever, Dior was fantastical, Dries Van Noten was dreamy, and Celine was simply a breath of fresh air as the heat began to lift. Ahead, are my favorite looks from Paris Men's Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027.

Simplicity At Saint Laurent

If there's one thing Anthony Vaccarello will give us for Men's, it's a series of austere, simple suiting. Expertly cut, uniquely finished with subtle details like a gold sunflower button or a pair of PVC oxford shoes, which showed up in various shades of shiny olive and browns. Spring/Summer 2027 was a meditation on the luxury of absence.

Fantasy At Dior

I love Dior Men’s so much because it is often where fashion leans into this sense of whimsicality and fantasy for menswear. No one is better suited to the task than king of dreaming himself, Jonathan Anderson, and I loved the fun he had with this collection, from fresh color blocking to beaded floral brooches and crisp cotton double breasted bed shirts cut like evening coats.

Dreaming At Dries

One moment that alleviated all of us was a sense of joy and hope at Dries Van Noten, where Julian Klausner offered a collection stacked with summery colors, featherlight layers, and fluid cuts, providing an oasis-like guidebook on heatwave dressing.

Louis Vuitton's Speedy Central

The most fun aspect of Pharrell's Louis Vuitton Men's Spring/Summer 2027 show was certainly the surplus of Speedy's that were offered up in various colors, patterns, and embellishments, like a series of beaded monogram bags in pink, green and blue that felt perfect when carried slouchy and open.

Celine's Styling

Celine saved the day at the end of the week when Michael Rider showed his first menswear collection for the house and the first Celine men's offering since 2023. Rider's signature prep was layered, scrunched, and accessorized in a way that offered a fresh feeling perspective, and he does all of his styling himself.
