The 2026 Oscars red carpet is well underway tonight, and so are the women in feathers! Emerging on the red carpet in Los Angeles this evening as reoccurring theme, we spotted it on the queens of the carpet—Demi Moore, Nicole Kidman, and Teyana Taylor—all in custom feather gowns.
Both Kidman and Taylor arrived in custom Chanel gowns by Matthieu Blazy. Kidman wore an ivory strapless embellished peplum gown, with grey and silver beading and the bust and an ostrich feather hem, while Taylor opted for a semi-sheer black and white beaded dress with a dramatic ostrich feather train.

Feathers have been a focal point of the trend cycle for the past few seasons, and there was no shortage of them during the Fall/Winter 2026 runway season that just wrapped up. At Blazy's Chanel Fall/Winter 2026 show, the Belgian designer fastened clusters of ostrich feathers to the shoulders of cotton-candy-colored slip dresses, while for Demna's debut "La Famiglia" collection, the creative director offered a series of dramatic feather trimmed gowns.

Moore has been collaborating with Demna at Gucci since his first collection, so it made sense that she would opt for a custom Gucci look for the Oscars ceremony tonight, in a dramatic green feather strapless gown. We love our feathery queens!
