Milan Fashion Week is now in the rearview with Paris Fashion Week officially kicking off yesterday, but before we all move on with too much haste, we’re coming at you with the Spring Summer 2026 trend report from the Italian fashion capital.

From Dario Vitale’s sexy Versace debut to Louise Trotter’s triumphant first Bottega Veneta collection, there was plenty to take note of this season. Namely, our favorite transitional trench coat has returned to the runway in a very big way. Chartreuse as a color trend has carried through from New York to London to Milan, alongside a specific focus on lilac and lavender.

Subversion returned to the runway with bras out across the board, if you can even call the brilliant yet flimsy bibs of fabric at Prada, bras, appearing at Jil Sander, The Attico, and more.

Ahead, all of the trends that we spotted on the runway at Milan Fashion Week Spring Summer 2026.

Milan may as well have taken over London as the capital city of the trench coat this month, with iterations popping up consistently on plenty of runways. At Bottega Veneta, Louise Trotter sent giant leather versions down the runway with intrecciato details, while at Ferragamo, Maximillion Davis offered up classic versions in taupe and black as integral layering pieces within the collection. The Attico introduced a host, with cropped hems to the waist and tapered hems to the ankles to create an inverted triangle shape, offering grey leather versions later on. The craze continued at Moschino, where the opening look was a sand coloured trench dress (buttoned to the TOP).

It was all about the antithesis of covering up this season, with exposed bras as a focal point of the trend cycle. Vitale’s Versace featured embellished bras, while at The Attico, the office siren was scandalized with open button down shirts that exposed pastel lace bras. Prada’s variations came via an offering of bib-like pieces of fabric that vaguely resembled a supportive bra, draped over the bust and left loose where elastic would usually be, while at Jil Sander, it was all about structured cut out tops and dresses with matching bras revealed, and over at Fendi, cable knit matchy bras were paired with cardigans and short shorts of the same composition.

Lilac was the color of the week last week. The unsurprising color choice for spring was everywhere from Versace to Moschino to Prada, who injected lilac in the form of tiny cotton shorts with front pockets and leather opera gloves. At Moschino, Adrian Appiolaza sent a lilac column dress down the runway followed by a knitted white t-shirt with a lilac cardigan printed onto it. Over at Versace, lilac underscored the entire collection. From crew socks to satin pumps to purple leather trousers, capri pants and blazers.

There were some fun flourishes amongst the fresh colours and classic coats at MFW, and they came in the form of fabrics tied at the hips. Over at Ferragamo, a series of classic tailored suits were accessorized with silk scarves that were tied low on the hips, which felt similar to silhouettes at The Attico, which featured mini lace sleep dresses and cotton poplin shirts that were accessorized the same way.
