The Best Met Gala Looks, Live From The Red Carpet

The Met Gala is finally here, and fashion's biggest night of nights on the first Monday of May has officially kicked off. This year's exhibition theme is titled: “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”, inspired by guest curator Monica L. Miller’s novel Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. The dress code for the actual fundraiser is slightly more broad "Tailored For You.” for the attendees to interpret how they wish.

Running from May 10th to October 26th; The new showcase will explore the importance of clothing and style to the formation of Black identities in the Atlantic diaspora, and will be arranged by the characteristics of Black dandyism. “Tailored For You,” reflects a sartorial mood that is “purposefully designed to provide guidance and invite creative interpretation.” so we can expect a surplus of interesting suiting, structural dressmaking, and new interpretations of tailoring.

This year's co-chairs include Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, and Anna Wintour will co-chair the event, alongside honorary chair LeBron James.
