London Fashion Week has been and gone in the blink of an eye, as it does so often. The stopover between New York and Milan acts as a hub for burgeoning talent, Saint Martens graduates, and British legacy houses that always supply a sense of innate Englishness into the fashion month schedule.

This season, it was all about Victorian themes at Erdem and Simone Rocha, where pannier skirts emerged as a key trend, and subtle nods to tartan at Burberry and Chopova Lowena. We also spotted lots of skillful layering, and a surprising amount of chartreuse. Below, we recap all of the notable trends from London Fashion Week’s Spring/Summer 2026 season.

Pannier skirts featured on the runways of some of our favorite designers this week. At Erdem, they formed little mini dresses in embroidered wool and corsetry, evoking visions of Marie Antoinette. They turned up at Simone Rocha, too, where the structured underskirts were fitted under translucent tiered skirts and silk dresses with scalloped hems.

If Chartreuse isn’t the color of the season, I’ll be extremely surprised. Cropping up sparsely at first in New York, Londoners went green with envy this season. At Burberry, the color turned up in cotton embroidered two piece sets and later in a glo-mesh pink and chartreuse tartan skirt set; while at Erdem the hue emerged in the form of a silk strapless ballgown. Over at Simone Rocha, another strapless sateen ballgown, followed by a slinky mid-length skirt. Even at Chopova Lowena—a notoriously colorful brand—designers Emma Chopova and Laura Lowena fit the hue in via a pleated chartreuse skirt with tiny brown checks, while at Emilia Wickstead, a mid-length embossed chartreuse dress stormed down the runway.

It wouldn’t be London Fashion Week without a bit of tartan, from Burberry at the very least. But this season, many of the designers on schedule incorporated the traditionally Scottish print into their collections. It was, unsurprisingly, most noticeable at Burberry, where Daniel Lee rendered tartan in glo-mesh skirts, coated gabardine trench coats and cotton pants with lace trim. Lee experimented with colors for the trench coats, which were bright green and red, royal blue, mustard yellow, and brown. Over at Emilia Wickstead, a series of plaid dresses opened the show in powder blue, pale yellow, and mint green, while at Ashley Williams, Tish Weinstock emerged in a checkered trench/skirt suit hybrid.

The Spring/Summer season didn’t stop Londonders from pushing layering this season, which has been a returning theme on runways of late. Perhaps something about clothing as armor in trying times? At Chopova Lowena, this was cleverly done with double-waist skirts that were belted at both the waist and the hips to create a layered effect, while at Fashion East’s Mayhew, designer Louis Mayhew stacked board shorts over cotton shirts and vests with sweatpant bands as hems. Back at Erdem, cotton pants and shirts were layered with corsets and neck ruffs and pannier skirts, evoking a kind-of historic pajama party energy.
