The Great Bob Debate: "FAB" vs. "CLB"
One is the unseasoned boiled chicken of bobs and one is performance of “chill” with the rigor of Amy Dunne from Gone Girl.
I’ve been a beauty and culture writer since 2013, having written for The New York Times, New York Magazine’s The Cut, The Guardian, GQ, Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, Nylon, Bustle, and more. I was an Allure Beauty Editor for a while as well as a brand consultant before writing my first essay collection Die Hot With A Vengeance: Essays On Vanity with Harper Collins. I also host the scent podcast Smell Ya Later and write the Substack, Hard Feelings.
I cover beauty in all forms, especially as it informs and is informed by culture, past nostalgia, future optimism, and identity. I've also ideated, written, and helped produce editorial features and photoshoots that demonstrated makeup’s versatile artistry for Allure and xoVain.
I went to clown school for college — just kidding, sort of. I have a BA in Drama Studies from SUNY Purchase.
