Smoky Eyes and Brown Lips: Alberta Ferretti’s Beauty Look was An Ode to the ’90s

Tweed suits, chunky layered knitwear, form-hugging slip dresses: for Alberta Ferretti, the aim of her Fall/Winter 2024 collection was to feature pieces that enhance the wearer rather than camouflage them. The makeup took a similar cue. Kanako Takase, lead makeup artist for the show and creative director for Addiction Tokyo, created two natural makeup looks with warmth and color to balance out the cooler tones in the collection. Both looks featured a warm brown lip—Addiction Tokyo The Lipstick Extreme Shine in 017—pressed on for a soft stain of color. Then, a few swipes of The Lip Serum were applied over the pigment for a subtle sheen and a lived-in effect. The softer lip shade had a sultry, '90s feel, especially when paired with the warm smoky eye makeup.
