All the Workout Gear Coveteur Staffers Are Using for Their At-Home Fitness Regimens

Everyone is getting very creative.

Fitness
home workout gear
By this point in the pandemic, many of us have adapted to life without a formal gym. We’ve found fitness instructors on Youtube or Instagram and have subscribed to online workout classes. Slowly but surely, we are starting to amass the equipment required for our own personal fitness regimens whether that’s long-distance running or HIIT—though we may still occasionally use soup cans for light weights. Forced out of your comfort zone, you may have even discovered a new routine you like better than the gym. We polled six of our staffers about the fitness gear that is getting them through this period of at-home workouts.

Hyperice Hypervolt Plus with Bluetooth

Designed by rocket engineers, this is literally the most powerful massage device in the world. I use it after a hard workout to help relieve tension in my muscles (it’s amazing on the neck and under the shoulder blades)—it’s honestly a complete game changer. Where I used to experience soreness after a really intense workout, I use this targeted machine with a personalized recovery routine from their new app, and it instantly helps relieve knots and tightness that I would otherwise have experienced. *Sponsored

$399

P.volve 1.5LB Ankle Weights

For a little added intensity to my workout or early morning walk, I strap on these light ankle weights—they add just enough resistance to boost my cardio while also helping to tone the leg with every movement.

$20

S’well Ombre Bottle

I’m all about hydration, and this S’well bottle gets it done while I’m on the go. I use this for tennis and walks and, well, everything—I have this in my bag at all times because it keeps my beverages cold for up to 27 hours! Honestly, one of the best purchases ever.

Renoj Jump Rope

This jump rope has quickly become my favorite at-home workout discovery. You really can’t beat the efficiency of how many calories you burn, and it tones your entire body at the same time. I’ve always wanted to start using one as it wasn’t an appropriate use of space during the after-work surge at my neighborhood gym, so now seemed like the perfect time.

Alo Yoga High-waist Biker Short

Biker shorts are my favorite thing to wear for running. They don’t have too much excess fabric but still provide a little coverage if you’re running outside. Plus, they look great with an oversize sweatshirt before/after your run.

$56

Lululemon The Reversible Mat 5mm

Now that I’m working out at home, I decided it was time to invest in a decent mat. As I don’t own a lot of equipment, I try to find online classes focused on using your own body weight where a mat is the only item you need!

Garmin Forerunner 235

As a marathoner and total running nerd, I love logging my miles with the super-accurate Garmin sport watches. I have been eyeing this model that is a major upgrade to the version I have been training with for a few years. I might just have to treat myself!

$250

Manduka YogiToes Yoga Towel

I have been practicing with these towels for years, and I am loving the new colors of these cult-favorite towels. I love that the grippy beads provide traction on your mat or other surface! I love taking these towels outdoors and flowing on the grass or sand.

$58

PowerBeats Pro Totally Wireless Earphones

These are the best sweat-proof wireless headphones I have tried. They stay put in your ears no matter the activity, and the battery life is insanely long to keep up with my long runs and favorite workouts.

$250 $200

Laced by Laju Cobra Leggings

If I’m not working out in ratty gym shorts, then I want a cute pair of leggings that are also equally comfortable. The four-way stretch fabric never feels constrictive, and when I can finally make it back to a hot yoga class, the sweat-wicking component will be much appreciated.

$80

Bala Bangles Classic 1LB

I will strap on these weights for everything, whether I’m doing a gentle yoga flow in my living room, hiking on a treadmill incline, or even cooking dinner (no joke). They can fit around your ankles or on your arms to help you build a little bit of extra muscle.

$49

Nike Zoom Hyperace 2 Volleyball Shoe

Sure, these are technically volleyball shoes, but I want anything that can add a little cushioning for my feet (which are still busted from 12 years of soccer). They’re super lightweight and perfect for cross training in the gym or just a long walk around the neighborhood.

$115

Jacquelyn Greenfield, Editorial Production Fellow

Tone It Up Booty Bands

I’m a big fan of the Tone It Up protein, so I was over the moon to find out they offered workout gear. I’ve been into resistance bands a lot lately to help tone since I’m not going to the gym, and they have done wonders for my legs.

$10

Onzie High Rise Mini Biker Short

During quarantine I’ve pretty much been living in biker shorts, and they’ve become my favorite to wear while working out. Perfect for indoors and outside, I can’t get enough of them.

$58

Sports Research Sweet Sweat Bundle

By no means do I recommend wearing waist trainers while working out; however, I am a huge fan of sweat belts. I’m on a goal to try to shed a few of the pounds I’ve accumulated from all the takeout I’ve eaten throughout quarantine. The Sweet Sweat Workout Enhancer helps target the areas you most want to sweat out, while the Waist Trimmer really holds you in and even aids in maintaining good posture while working out.

$62 $55

Leya Kaufman, Head of Sales & Brand Partnerships

Bare Athletics The Kenya Bermuda Short

The Bermuda shorts trend is the best thing that has ever happened to me.  A bike short that hits just above the knee is functional and flattering for those at-home sculpt workouts.  And a set like this makes me feel like I’m just as cool as those virtual sculpt instructors that barely break a sweat.

$52

Asics Gel-kayano 27

I’ve sworn by the classic Asics Kayano for years. This multifunctional sneaker is the MVP behind every single one of my long runs. It’s also light enough to wear for virtual cardio kickboxing or the occasional at-home dance class.

$160

Obé Fitness

I’ve never worked out less but felt more in shape. As a working full-time mom who cherishes every minute with the family, I can honestly say that this app is a game changer. I live for the 27-minute “sculpt” & “strength” workouts. And a dance with Peter Tucci always elevates my mood.
