This week on Open Tabs—an assortment of links we have on our open tabs for the week—we’re giving you a peek into our own internet habits and the stories and themes we can’t seem to stop talking about, like what the latest nail trends are for 2019, Netflix’s next big collaboration, recent tech updates, and much, much more.

1. How to Wear Your Favorite Designer on Your Nails (via Elle)

Whether you get a fresh full set every two weeks or do a swipe of polish now and then, it’s safe to say that we can all appreciate a nice hand of claws when we see one. While this year has been a hot one for nails with the jelly trend and french tips making a comeback, there’s another contender at the table: designer nails. And while rocking your favorite brand isn’t necessarily new to the world of nail art, these intricate designs take things to a whole other level. [Writer’s Note: A personal favorite has to be the Fendi French Tips.]

2. Planned Parenthood Has Created an Abortion Finder (via The Cut)

During this year alone, there have been 26 anti-abortion laws passed throughout various states. Planned Parenthood is still doing everything in their power to help, most recently with the launch of their Abortion Care Finder. The nonprofit organization created the new function on its website after realizing “abortion near me” was one of the most-searched phrases on its website. It will offer information on where the nearest abortion facility is and any state requirements one might need to receive one.

3. The Latest in Streaming Wars: A Netflix and Nickelodeon Deal (via New York Times)

Remember when streaming services were brand-new and we were still debating whether it was worth it to cut ties with the cable company? Same. Nowadays, the debate is on which service, or two, is worth the money. With Disney releasing Disney+ this coming Tuesday, Netflix has just announced that they’ve made a deal with none other than Nickelodeon. Set to “create and produce original animated feature films and television series based on Nickelodeon’s library of characters, the first project that is rumored to come from the multi-million-dollar collaboration is a SpongeBob Squarepants spin-off based around the character Squidward.

4. There’s a Privacy Issue with Facebook’s App for iPhones (via Hypebae)

For those iPhone users with the Facebook app on their device, this ones for you. A few users have reported issues with the social media app being able to access their phone’s camera without their permission. Facebook released an official statement to Mashable stating: “[...] we inadvertently introduced a bug that caused the app to partially navigate to the camera screen adjacent to News Feed when users tapped on photos.” The tech giant also stated that there has been “no evidence of photos or videos being uploaded due to this bug,” but we think that is definitely something to be wary of until the next update becomes available for the app.

5. The Motorola Razr Is Back! (via Refinery29)

It’s 2006, and High School Musical makes it official debut on the Disney Channel. Troy Bolton takes out his Motorola Razr v3 to exchange numbers with Gabriella Montez, and it officially becomes *the* phone of the 2000s. Well, millennials rejoice, because the phone is officially making a comeback. Motorola is re-releasing the iconic phone, this time with a face-lift. While the new Razr will still be a flip phone, it will run as a smartphone, complete with touch-screen features. Available for pre-order December 26th, it will be retail for a little under $1,500.
