Let’s be honest: There’s nothing quite like spending an afternoon lounging on a beach somewhere hundreds of miles away from your responsibilities. In a perfect world, we’re also wearing a killer bikini and sipping a mai tai as the sound of the waves lulls us to sleep. That’s what summer is all about, no? And because we always love the luxe things in life (and we know you do, too), we uncovered the 11 most glamorous beaches around the world. Read up on our favorites below.

Two words for you: pink sand. If that’s not reason enough for you to pay a visit to Bermuda, then the crystal clear turquoise waters should do the trick. There’s also an outdoor café so you can enjoy a snack and a cold beer before diving back into the gentle waves.

Hawaii beaches are unparalleled, and for good reason. The water is bathwater-warm, the sun is *always* shining, and if you’re wanting to learn to surf, there’s no place better to get on your board. You also might see a turtle catching a few waves alongside you.

Two miles of pure white Caribbean beach sounds like our definition of heaven. The water here doesn’t seem real at times—it’s crystal clear and perfectly matches the cloudless skies.

Located in the Todo Santos, this hidden gem of a beach is particularly quiet compared to other spots in a vacation-heavy area of Mexico. It’s ideal for both swimming and surfing, with secluded waters that will help the rest of the world melt away.

Punta Cana may have the most name recognition in the Dominican Republic, but the sleepy fishing town of Cabarete has the most charm. The warm waters and steady breeze make it a popular spot for kite-surfing, but there’s also no shortage of relaxation to be had on the shore.

It’s all in the name: seven glorious miles of beach for your enjoyment. No need to feel crowded in the Caribbean waters ever again. The Cemetery Reef is also close by for snorkeling or diving excursions.

If you’re looking for a wintertime getaway, then consider making the trek to the Thai island of Phuket. November to May is ideal for swimming in the crystal clear waters, and there’s no lack of fresh seafood at the nearby restaurants.

It’s hard to pick only one Greek beach, but Balos Lagoon in Crete is too gorgeous to ignore. The rocky scenery is accompanied by baby-blue waters and near-constant sunshine, the perfect setting for your relaxing vacation.

When you don’t want to fly for hours and hours to get to a remote island but still want that exclusive remote feel, St. Barts is your best bet. There’s no shortage of stunning seascapes, and even though it’s a bit of a drive to get there, Gouverneur Beach will truly take your breath away.

If you still want to visit a beach but are craving a break from the relentless summer heat, then consider a trip to Iceland. The infamous black sand beaches (courtesy of basalt lava) are only a few hours drive from the capital of Reykjavik and 100 percent worth it.

The mountainous scenery of this locals-favorite beach cannot be beat. You might spot a few surfers or boogie-boarders in the water, but if you’re looking to take a scenic stroll in the sand, the surrounding pine trees and deep blue water could not be more stunning.
