From the second Nina Runsdorf opened the door to her Manhattan apartment, clad in old Céline, we knew that we were in for an afternoon of luxe styling lessons. The jewelry designer has no shortage of statement pieces in her wardrobe (Hermès for days), and she’s not afraid of a pop of color, often in the form of a wildly printed dress or silk blouse. Then of course, there was the jewelry. As we spent the better part of the afternoon soaking in her enviable style, we came away with three key rules for nailing the perfect timeless outfit. Check them out below, and shop the 15 pieces inspired by Runsdorf’s New York closet.
1. Classic handbags are always in style
Obviously an Hermès Birkin isn’t in reach for everyone, but a ladylike bag in supple leather will always pull your outfit together, no matter the time of year.
2. Embrace the scarf print
There's a reason wildly printed scarves are still trending—there’s no better way to incorporate a fun print into your outfit rotation.
3. Invest in a watch
The designer has *quite* the collection of watches. Consider saving for an investment style of your own. You’ll never regret it, and it pairs perfectly with anything and everything.
