A 45-minute drive from Buenos Aires in General Rodriguez, down a road punctuated by horse stables and through a gate, we found ourselves at the Juan Ignacio Ramos-designed home of Delfina Blaquier—a sleek art-filled abode she shares with her champion Polo player husband and longtime Ralph Lauren model Nacho Figueras, their four children, and a mischievous sheep named Bonnie, who is convinced she’s a dog. But if you follow Blaquier, you already know it—she’s had a virtual seat at the dinner table for us all along and taken us on glamorous vacations, too.
Spend five minutes with her, and she’ll show you that same instant welcoming—so much so that we cleared our calendar so we could hang out with her and Nacho for the rest of the day. Which was a good thing, because we had a helluva closet to get through. Endless flowy white blouses and denim serve as Blaquier’s uniform when she’s at the stables and home. Ultra-feminine Missoni and Johanna Ortiz dresses and classics by way of CHANEL and Hermès made room for sporty separates—a nod to Blaquier’s successful career as a track star. Then there are the pieces she’s picked up along her travels—which also happens to be a habit she inherited from her grandmother—like embroidered mirrored clutches and leather satchel bags. Her inimitable Argentine sensibility is found throughout. It’s no surprise that she and her husband recently joined forces with two Cov alums, Sofia Achaval and Lucila Sperber, on their la pampa (Argentinian lowlands) inspired clothing brand, Acheval, which features gaucho pants rethought in silk and sequins and billowy blouses—of which she wore a custom blue gown to the Royal Wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
Before we made our way back to the city, we made our way to Blaquier’s 44-stall stable (designed by the same architect as her home), which is an Architectural Digest’s dream. Click through to see what we mean. Plus, shop her closet here.
