The 10 Best Beauty Looks from New York Fashion Week

Some looks were cray, others were chill, but everything was pretty.

If you like washes of brilliant color and and fantastical hair that gives you *big mood*, you were happy this New York Fashion Week for spring 2019. There was a feminine, unapologetic, and fine-art-inspired theme backstage. We saw loads of romantic eye makeup, hair that doubles as a rose garden, and shiny gold foil lips. Tom Ford kicked things off with a glossy copper eye, and Marc Jacobs shut the week down with his (hour-and-a-half-late) party of muted pink and blue futuristic beehives. Intrigued? Want to see it all again? Scroll through for the top hits of NYFW this season.

We saw even more washes of lovely sunset colors at Anna Sui, but these shadows extended all the way over the brows and down onto the cheeks because, well, PRETTY. Photo: Courtesy of Instagram/@spanych

Gothic lipstick, asymmetrical hair—Christian Cowan went super graphic and made us think of punk superheroes and power babes.  Photo: Courtesy of Instagram/@christiancowan

There is no show yet to nail representation like Chromat does and, in keeping, every model got their own unique hair look. Plus, some really good pink, purple, and yellow eye looks. Photo: Courtesy of Instagram/@chromat

Red lip and highlighter forever and ever. The look at Cushnie was pure sexy power woman, with this poppy-red lipstick and skin that glows like a lightbulb. Photo: Courtesy of Instagram/@cushnie

Shiny gloss is nice, sure, but what about golden *plated* lips thanks to the foils at Jeremy Scott? Were these kiss-proof, we don’t know, but with lip bling as eye-catching this, we don’t think it’s worth finding out. Photo: Courtesy of Instagram/@jeremyscott

A dusting of sweet little daisies through the hair at Mansur Gavriel made us think of the hippie-dippy ’70s college days we never got to have. We’re happy to participate in a redo. Photo: Courtesy of Instagram/@mansurgavriel

Monochromatic usually means boring, but in the case of the faded blue, pink, and yellow beehives and buzzcuts at Marc Jacobs, it simply meant that we got to see the same pretty “antiqued” shades twice as much, as they were washed across the lids. Photo: Courtesy of Instagram/@neimanmarcus

Wet hair looks, like at Proenza Schouler, set a strong tone. And when we ask hairstylists backstage how much gel is required, sometimes all we get is “a lot.” Indeed. Photo: Courtesy of Instagram/@hollismithhead

The beauty looks at this show caused a total beauty editor freak-out backstage (us included). Between the insane amount of flowers and the yellow, blue, purple, and pink eyeshadow, we haven’t seen such full-picture beauty looks with this much girly romance in seasons. Photo: Courtesy of Instagram/@Rodarte

We’ve been trying to think of a word to describe the eyeshadow color at Tom Ford, but one thing we do know: We want it. The pink-copper-brown-golden shiny eye was like date-night glam on steroids. Photo: Courtesy of Instagram/@tomfordbeauty
