The fashion industry vet talks collecting sneakers since junior high and her love for the streetwear culture. Los Angeles.
You didn’t seriously think that we could have another sneaker week without revisiting Aleali May’s closet, did you? The last time we caught up with the model-slash-stylist-slash-blogger was in New York, so this time around we decided to stop by her West Hollywood apartment. We’re going to go ahead and assume that you already know that May is something of a fashion industry mainstay, and let it be known that the girl never half-asses anything. Whether she’s modeling for Adidas, covering an event for her blog, or styling her newest client, Lil Yachty (more on that later), May always gives 150 percent to any job she takes on.
When May gave us the tour of her place, we had a hard time figuring out where to start. From one closet that was bursting with bombers to a second one full of pants and hoodies, drawers of graphic and vintage tees and stacks upon stacks of sneakers (and heels!)—it was a little overwhelming. She has Yeezy’s in every color and so many Jordans that we hardly knew what to do with them all. Oh, and let’s not forget her custom-painted Goyard Goyardine Croisiere or her collection of skateboard decks.
