51 of the Best Comme des Garçons Pieces We’ve Seen

The Met Gala is just one day away, but who’s counting? (Read: We’ve been counting down all month and we. can’t. wait.) The red carpet and the outfits are always awe inspiring. And the exhibit is always so, so good that we have to see it the day it opens and repeatedly throughout the year until it closes–and then it’s time to start getting excited about the next one all over again.

But there is something about this Met Gala that feels extra special. Not only is Rei Kawakubo the only living designer to have a MET exhibit in thirty four years (the last one being Yves Saint Laurent), but she is also Rei Kawakubo. Elusive and extraordinary, she’s transformed the fashion world forever with Comme des Garçons. We can’t wait to see what the Met has in store, but we’ve also seen a pretty impressive amount of CDG ourselves. From Kourtney Kardashian to Tavi Gevinson to Gia Kuan, it’s no secret Comme des Garçons is universally adoredour fashion friends closets speak for themselves. In honor of this year’s Met Gala, we’ve compiled 51 pictures of the best Comme pieces we’ve been lucky enough to see in person.
