We can hardly contain our excitement.

If you’ve been waiting to find out Clare Waight Keller’s next move after leaving Chloé, you’ll be happy to know the moment has finally arrived. The designer was just named the artistic director at Givenchy, filling the space left by another major talent, Riccardo Tisci. While Clare’s aesthetic might seem a bit feminine for the brand’s now dark, edgy, and often sexy vibe, those in charge are definitely looking forward to seeing how she mixes things up.

“The fact of having, for the first time, a woman envisioning the brand, designing for women and men, is unique for the house,” Givenchy’s chief executive officer, Philippe Fortunato, told WWD, saying we’d have to wait to see if any major changes occur. “That by itself will give it a different angle and a different point of view from the past.”

The good news is Clare’s first Givenchy collection will be on display in Paris this October, giving us one more thing to look forward to. The designer’s successor at Chloé, Natacha Ramsay-Levi, will also show her first collection that same week.
