Sofie Valkiers Gets Ready for the Louis Vuitton Show
Stephanie Mark

We have been lucky enough to spend time with writer and stylist Sofie Valkiers in some pretty chic places. We spent the day at her house in Antwerp photographing her for our book (PRE-ORDER HERE!!!); we danced the night away in Rio together with flamenco dancers; but getting to spend some cozy quality time with Valkiers before the Louis Vuitton show this morning might just be our favorite catch-up yet.

We arrived bright and early (for us that means anytime before 8 AM) at Les Bains Hotel in Paris to get ready with Valkiers for the LV show. Ever the gracious host, we were greeting with a big smile and steaming cups of coffee (major key). After rummaging through what can only be described as the chicest assortment of clothes and accessories EVER, we got down to it. Valkiers is truly effortless, and before we knew it, she was out of her robe and into her show look—one she chose specifically because of the sequinned arms and the structure of the dress (for those of you who follow the style star, you will know these sartorial details are things she is very into).

In the spirit of the day, we started off by chatting about her first fashion memory, which, as fate would have it, turned out to be her first Vuitton memory—there is nothing that warm our hearts like a story about a mother to daughter sweet sixteen gift in the form of an LV bag. And topics shifted from the recent blogger versus editor debate (she thinks everyone can get along) to the things that help her deal with constant travel and jet lag (sleep, water and a very special candle she created inspired by a trip to Brazil with her boyfriend).

In the time we could say Ghesquière ten times fast, it was show time! And off Valkiers went to the Place Vendôme. We can only imagine where we’ll catch up next.
