The Coveteur's Comprehensive Guide to SPF
We won’t lie: we’ve gone through dark periods where we’ve shunned the SPF in the name of all things bronzed and brown. But as much as we're total thermophiles in the land where it snows 8.5 months of the year (truth), it’s clear that unless you're Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele, it's officially démodé to butter up like a roast chicken in the Texas Heat and call it a day. That’s right, guys: it’s 'bye, bye, bye' Kardashi-tan, hello Marilyn Manson pallor. Okay, so maybe that’s a touch extreme. Let’s say… Lily Collins?

The truth of the matter is that that little bit of tan is just not worth it. We don’t know about you, but we‘d rather not wrinkle like tissue paper and get all sun-spotty before our time just for a little bronze. We mean, how on earth are we to seduce Taylor ‘Dreamboat’ Kitsch (lets just say we’re fan-girling hard vis-à-vis Netflix over at TC HQ) if we look more like George Hamilton’s long lost sister than the #Girlbosses we are? (That said, read our Intro to the Faux Tan 101 if that’s your bag, baby.)

And with that PSA, we introduce the SPF picks of our fave skicons (skin-icons, duh!) So forget what you’ve heard about DIY sunscreen (#notathing), Vitamin D (real, but available in tablet form), and tan lines (real, but not ideal): we’ve got the 4-1-1 on sun care that will have us looking as fresh as North by North West at Kidchella.
Best Sunscreen Face Body ReviewLancôme Flash Bronzer for Legs self tan, which I use for both face and body. I have tried everything, and nothing even comes close! John Masters Organics SPF40
and Yes To Cucumbers SPF 30. My stepfather died of skin cancer, so I am huge on sunscreen. Natural sunscreen is the only way to go in my opinion. All the Yes To’s sink in easily, smell and feel amazing."

Best Sunscreen Face Body Review“I am a La Mer junkie and I do all the steps—the face wash, the toner, the serum, the eye cream, the other cream, the sunblock, the mist. And then the sunblock again half way through the day, even when it’s raining. I’m crazy about sunscreen and preventing wrinkles."

I apply this all over my face, neck, chest and hands (never forget the damn hands, they’re always the first giveaway!) every single day and reapply every hour if I’m out doors (even under an umbrella and hat!).?
