NYFW Daily Debrief: Misha Nonoo

Bianca Jagger would totally approve.

NYFW Daily Debrief: Misha Nonoo
That's right: like peanut butter and jelly or Frank and Claire Underwood, we're at it again. This season, we've hooked up with Tresemme (the official hair sponsor of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week—you fancy, huh), the inimitable, iconic Orlando Pita and Something Navy's Arielle Nachmani to bring you behind-the-scenes breakdowns of each show's hair looks. Get your blowdryers ready, set... we're off!

Misha Nonoo can really only be described as the kind of woman who really designs for women—a feat that's only about a thousand times more complex and increasingly more rare than it sounds. While her collection veered from prim and buttoned-up (pinafores layered over button-down shirts) to pieces that wouldn't have looked out of place on a Studio 54-era Bianca Jagger (a glinting silver mini-dress with full sleeves and down-to-there V); the hair was messy, albeit modern and ineffably cool—only in Nonoo's usual style, with a twist.
“This season we’ve empowered our models to put their own take on our collection by having them create their very own textured, 'Perfectly Undone Wavy Ponytail'," Nonoo explained. "We want to celebrate personal style, inspiring women to champion their individuality and their hair’s natural beauty. It’s been exciting to see our models become involved in the show from start to finish!” says Ryan Trysgstad, who was key-ing the show on behalf of TRESemmé.
“For Misha’s show, we were inspired by '90s loose waves and classic, textured hair from some of our favourite covers and shows of that era. It was an exciting challenge to translate all this into an easy, wearable look that women everywhere could create at home.” Oh, this just got convenient. As for the actual how-to-achieve-this-at-home part? Please. As if we'd leave you hanging. Read on!

Perfectly Undone Wavy Ponytail

  • YOU WILL NEED:

    • Perfectly (un)Done Weightless Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner

    • Perfectly (un)Done Wave Creation Sea Foam

    • Perfectly (un)Done Wave Perfectly Gelee

    • Blow dryer

    • Round brush

    • Comb

    • Thin elastic

    • Bobby pins.

Step 1:

Start by washing your hair using Perfectly (un)Done Weightless Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and towel dry.

Step 2:

Work in the Perfectly (un)Done Wave Creation Sea Foam from root to tip on damp hair. Dry hair with a round brush to create texture and waves in the mid lengths to ends.

Step 3:

Use a comb to create a deep side part smoothing hair flat around the hairline and pull hair into a low pony and secure with a thin elastic. Use Perfectly (un)Done Wave Perfectly Gelee to tame flyaways around the hairline.

Step 4:

Finish the look by spraying Perfectly (un)Done Ultra Brushable Hairspray for light hold. To add additional interest, place bobby pins at the hair line.
