Strategic Consultant; Event Director, Gallery Perrotin; Jewelry & Art Editor, CR Fashion Book. Paris
For all of our waxing poetic on Parisian style, if you don't know, now you know: there's no one who skips the default mom uniform like a French woman. As in, the only mom jeans you'll find in their closet are strictly ironic, and their daily go-tos are likely more Céline (or at least something that looks like it) than Contempo Casuals. Caroline de Maigret's musings on the nation's approach to parenting aside (if you haven't read her How To Be Parisian yet, like, get on it already), the French basically, much like everything else, have the whole not-losing-your-identity-when-you-become-a-parent thing nailed. Case in point? Anne-Sophie Mignaux.
If the selfies with Kanye and Pharrell all over her Instagram didn't tip you off, allow us to fill you in: when she's not busy consulting for luxury brands, she's working for Galerie Perrotin, a leading contemporary art gallery in Paris. Oh, and then there's her most recent gig with CR Fashion Book, as online jewelry and art editor. Yeah, it's safe to say that girl knows the ins and outs of the finer things in life.
With this in mind, you can probably imagine that when we showed up to her apartment in the Marais, our expectations were, well, high. And you know what? We weren't disappointed. After all, when your welcome comes in the form of sparkly Shourouk and mad technicolor fur chubbies and popcorn is served in between setting up shots and still-lifes (it's a thing) it's kind of hard to be. Mignaux was the perfect host and game for some serious dress-up—and showing off her boxing moves. And her Murakami. Oh, and as one might expect, her serious jewelry collection—after all, it kind of comes with the territory. Best occupational hazard ever or best occupational hazard ever? We thought so.
