After last nights Academy Awards ceremony, there certainly were some knockouts when it came to the dresses that graced the red carpet (Emma, Gwyneth, Rooney and Michelle were standouts), but what we were really feeling were the hair styles – up do’s, side sweep bangs, voluminous extensions, and a few beautiful ladies who showcased their ombre hair. To honor Hollywood’s biggest night in talent (and hair), we take you inside the closet and home of Tracey Cunningham, owner of LA salon Byron & Tracey - one of the most highly sought after colorists working today – and someone who is responsible for some of the luscious locks we witnessed last night. She moved to LA from Seattle at a young age to pursue her passion of all things beauty related. From there, word got out about Cunningham’s luminous color applications, remarkable blow out skills and sharp eye for detail, which lauded her the official title of “The Best Blow-Out Artist of 1999” by Allure. She gravitates towards a bohemian-Moroccan-Turkish-Indian vibe, has a great selection of crosses, and she’s built up quite the large collection of clogs from different eras. She’s been gifted clothes from designers themselves (including one of her favorite pieces from Charlotte Ronson), has some versatile accessories from J.Crew and was such a gracious host when she cooked our Coveteur trio a delightful breakfast upon landing inside her LA home. The go-to source for all your ombre needs (she was the first to provide Lily Aldridge with her two-tone locks), helped make Kate Bosworth’s platinum blond hair a regular talking point, and gave Emma Stone her now signature red tone. Plus, she recently had Alessandra Ambrosio in her chair for the very first time to embark on the royal Cunningham experience. Tracey has become one of Hollywood’s coveted hair stylists, working on the tresses of Cameron Diaz, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Lopez, and Jessica Biel – spending her days working out of the Byron & Tracey Salon in Beverly Hills. While she was able to take a break from taking care of her devoted clientele, Tracey let us dig through her items to find out what culminates in her eclectic style.
