How CHANEL Does Paris

Believe us when we say there's no better chaperone through the City of Lights.

How CHANEL Does Paris
Let us break things down for a second: there is no possible better introduction to Paris than a first-ever visit accompanied by the CHANEL team. Let's just say that we know through, ahem, first-hand experience, or more specifically, the very first trip to Paris The Coveteur ever took, all the way back in December of 2011, in time for the storied fashion house's Paris-Bombay Pre-Fall show. One suite stay at Le Meurice and a few cocktails at Chez Georges with the team later and, well, we were considering abandoning TC ship in favor of the SS Lagerfeld. And so just in time for Fashion Week, we present Paris through our favorite double-C glasses.

Le Meurice: When the fashion crowd descends upon the city of Paris twice a year, the upwardly mobile majority tends to spend their nights (or more accurately, early mornings) at Le Meurice, including the whole of the CHANEL team (and their It-girl front row). Oh, and rumor has it, the hotel is also the very site Blue Ivy was conceived. Just saying.

The Massaro: There's nothing that quite captures the feeling of striding through the gilded doors of the Massaro—also known as the place where CHANEL shoes actually come to life—and realizing you're right where the magic happens. It also gives you an entirely new appreciation for the painstaking craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into your (dream) shoe wardrobe.

Chez Georges
We first visited Chez Georges for dinner during that very first trip to Paris with the CHANEL team, and it's been our go-to ever since. An authentic Parisian brasserie in the centre of the city, take in the restaurant's Art Nouveau decor and fill up on enough snails (when in France...) and duck pâté to fuel your shopping.
Le Castiglione
Should you be making your way down Rue Saint Honoré and find yourself famished, Le Castiglione is just the place, as we discovered during our first lunch with our friends at CHANEL. We recommend the steak frites and a glass of wine as suggested by your server... or alternately, you could just go straight for the desserts. We don't judge.
Place Vendôme: The site of Coco Chanel's one-time apartment, located in the Hôtel Ritz (currently under renovations), Place Vendôme is also home to CHANEL's Haute Joaillerie shop, should you feel like testing your credit card limit. Do a walk around the oval before heading through the Tuileries.

31 Rue Cambon
If 31 Rue Cambon sounds familiar, it's probably because the address of Coco's one-time apartment and CHANEL flagship permeates the house's branding (case in point: their Cambon tote, shade #31 lipstick in Cambon... the list goes on!). While Coco's preserved apartment remains, the address also houses CHANEL's couture salon and atelier, where their best clients are received and fitted. Oh, and you can shop there, too! (Just beware of the line...)
Le Grand Palais: Okay, so we'll be frank with this last one... While Le Grand Palais has been home to many a CHANEL show, usually spanning their couture and spring and fall collections, there is one caveat: you need an invitation to get in. In the event that you don't (must have gotten lost in the mail?), this makes Le Grand Palais a veritable heaven for aspiring street style photographers and subjects alike.
