We Created a Super Chic Candle with Boy Smells

We’ve always been obsessed with candles. After exploring hundreds of closets and homes—and spotting delicious-smelling varieties on every available surface—you would be, too. So when the opportunity arose to collaborate with one of our all-time favorite brands, Boy Smells, we jumped at the chance. Now, dozens of emails and meetings later, the new Boy Smells x Coveteur candle is finally here for your enjoyment. And may we say, it smells absolutely incredible.

Co-founders David Kien and Matthew Herman are the masterminds behind the wildly popular brand and acted as our pseudo-spirit guides to create a brand-new scent. “The creative process started with a discussion around a fig note,” they explained of the release. “We knew we wanted to build something fresh, starting at a fig base and playing with different elements. From there, we developed a sweeter version as well as a smokier version. After rounds of blending and sampling, we landed with a beautifully rich floral fig scent that includes notes of cashmere wood, Spanish bitter orange, iris, and patchouli. The scent is simultaneously rich and botanical, made with our signature bees and coconut wax and packaged in an [exclusive] Racing Green box.”

Our favorite thing about Boy Smells candles (aside from the array of fragrances) is how effortlessly they are to style around the home. The signature millennial pink label perfectly accents anything from a stack of coffee-table books to your vintage bar cart. Our favorite spot to keep ours, though, has to be in our bathroom—there’s nothing like drawing a bath and lighting a few candles to create the ultimate relaxation oasis. Best of all, the fragrance is reminiscent of a lush Italian summer, aka exactly where we want to spend our remaining vacation days this year. And as Kien and Herman recommended, “pair it with your Aperol spritz!” You don’t have to tell us twice.
