The Best Looks from London Fashion Week

We’ve already started saving.

Fashion Week
london fashion week fall 2019 best runway looks
London tends to be the most quiet week of fashion month—spanning five days in comparison to New York, Milan, and Paris’s seven or eight, and with many designers showing at small venues or favoring intimate presentations over elaborate runway shows. Still, there is a lot of beautiful work to appreciate, and we’ve spent the past few days gleefully scrolling through runway pics and bookmarking our favorite looks. From a Christopher Kane cocktail dress to a menswear-inspired Margaret Howell ensemble, here’s what we’re saving up for.

“Can you picture me rolling up to a dinner party in this mixed-print wonder and stealing the spotlight from the crudité platter? I can! Once again, Duro Olowu presented a collection nothing short of delightful.”

“Christopher de Vos and Peter Pilotto have always drawn inspiration from unique pieces of art and intricate pattern work. This piece is inspired by Zsolnay, Hungary’s famed ceramics brand. Pulling from their famed holographic treatment, Vos and Pilotto put a 70s spin on their looks. This coat is a prime example!”

“I’m always eager to see Simone Rocha’s collection at London Fashion Week, and boy, did she deliver this season! From organza trench coats revealing satin bodices to spidery patterns inspired by Louise Bourgeois, it was everything and MORE.”

“If 2018 was the year of leopard print, then 2019 is the year of feathers. Plumes have reigned supreme (and we still have two more fashion weeks to go)! Mary Katrantzou printed her feathers in her signature kaleidoscopic patterns, and it just works perfectly.”

“It’s rare that I look at a collection and can see myself wearing every single piece, but that was the case once Margaret Howell’s runway photos popped up on my phone. Sublime knitwear, excellent suiting, well-cut shirts—everything was stunning and unfussy, which, let’s be honest, is how most of us want to dress on the daily. I’d even love to snag a few items from the men’s collection. Let’s start with this perfect rust-colored coat, expertly styled with a slim black turtleneck, slouchy trousers, and high socks (with loafers—swoon). I’ll scoop the rest of the shearling coats and relaxed skirts in the very near future.”

“Victoria Beckham’s goal since launching her label has been to create clothing that encourages women to feel beautiful, comfortable, and confident. This season stayed true to that formula by way of pleated slacks, high-collared knits and blouses, curve-hugging dresses, and, my personal favorite, matching suit sets. This look in particular really spoke to me, from the lavender sweater to the matching bag and shoes (although I’m much more likely to pair it with a fresh pair of Air Force 1s). Don’t be surprised if I show up at your next event wearing this.”

“I can always look to J.W. Anderson for the perfect oversize sweater. This look in particular elevates the slouchy silhouette by pairing it with wide-legged pants and a luxe gold chain. I am now in full-on search mode for a camel pant to start wearing ASAP.”

“From the crystal roped trims to the jelly-filled accents, I instantly fell in love with Christopher Kane’s collection this season. I’m pretty sure I’ve had dreams about this diamante collar in the past, so yes, it’s safe to say I’d wear this look in a heartbeat.”
