During New York Fashion Week, show-goers always know how to dress to impress despite the unpredictable weather. We can only imagine what the outerwear closet of a street-style star looks like this time of year, since colorful faux fur coats, voluminous puffer jackets, and floor-length patent trenches have been spotted outside every venue. While plenty of monochrome neutral looks dominated the first day of fashion week, there’s been no shortage of eye-popping colors, like fuchsia, lime green, and electric orange, plus plenty of animal prints to go around.

Hair accessories are having a serious moment this season, with many a bejeweled barrette, headband, or bobby pin adorning the heads of editors and influencers alike, and given the occasional rainfall, a few choice bucket hats and scarves have made an appearance as well. The ubiquitous dad sneaker continues to be the comfortable footwear of choice, but a variety of boots—cowboy, white leather, platform snakeskin—are suggesting a shift back to more traditionally glamorous shoes. And a statement handbag is still the must-have accessory of the day, with bright colors and fun shapes complementing each equally showstopping look.
